Your First Visit

Patients are occasionally a little nervous about their first visit to the orthodontist. There is no need to be. This visit is a chance for us to get to know each other while gathering the important information that is required to provide you with excellent care.

Here's how to make your first visit simple and stress free:

• Fill out the Patient Information Form (available on our site).
• Print it out and bring it with you or submit it electronically.
• Come 10 minutes early and have a coffee or hot chocolate, on us.
• Come a little earlier and you can surf the Web on our high-speed Internet, rock out with Guitar Hero in our Xbox 360 Gamers Station, or read our current (yes, current) magazines.

Here's what happens after the coffee and Xbox 360:

We want to take the mystery out of orthodontics, so we will show you a short movie that presents common orthodontic problems and treatments. You will see how we diagnose the problems and how we fix them. You can witness the whole process in just a few minutes.

Dr. Dumore then reviews your medical and dental history and gets a better idea of what you expect from an orthodontic office and what you want us to achieve together.

Dr. Dumore will perform a comprehensive exam to find all problems. All the information is entered immediately into our computer.

Using our patient education software, Dr. Dumore will demonstrate your problems and potential treatments. He will include an estimated treatment time.

If treatment is necessary, a records appointment will be scheduled.
